Received Erasmus Mundus Scholarship

I am pleased to receive Erasmus Mundus scholarship for pursuing MSc in Computational Mechanics at Universitat Politècnica de Catalunya, Barcelona and Swansea University, UK for the first and second year of the study respectively. I consider myself fortunate as only about 20 students are selected every year to join the program starting from late September. It is an amazing program comprised of coursework, internship, and thesis led by Centre Internacional de Mètodes Numèrics a l'Enginyeria. Unfortunately, I had to turn down the offer to join MS in Mechanical Engineering program at Washington State University, Pullman, WA.

Neil deGrasse Tyson talked about 'Science'

Neil deGrasse Tyson, an American astrophysicist, and science communicator posted this video yesterday on his Facebook page. He talked about science - what is this, people's skepticism in scientific innovations even after being blessed by them, administration's denial on scientific emergent truth, etc.

My favorite part from the video is - "One of the great thing about science is that, it is an entire exercise in finding what is true. ... ... .... This is Science. It's not something to toy with. It's not something to say, I choose not to believe E = mc2. You don't have that option. When you have an established scientific emergent truth, it is true, whether or not you believe in it."
